Did you know there are only 6 weeks left in 2016?
You probably did, but this really sunk in for me today.
And while there is technically 6 weeks left,
there are really only 4 productive weeks left
because somewhere around mid-december most of us go into
what I call “ho-ho-shut-down”.
Meaning, that we just shift into holiday mode and away from biz mode.
I know I do anyway.
So when faced with the last 30 day deadline for the year
I have been coaching all my clients to make a list.
But not just any list.
A completion list.
And so I thought I would share it with you.
This is how it works:
STEP 1: Make categories of the areas most important to you
(family, occasions, holiday to do’s, business, health goals…etc)
STEP 2: Under each category, write down the things, tasks or projects
you are really committed to getting done in the next 30 days.
STEP 3: Set a date to have them all complete by.
Voila!
Then get busy week by week ticking them off
Now you can take all 6 weeks of the year *or*
you can gift yourself finishing your 2016-to-do-list earlier.
My date is December 16th so I give myself the freedom
to enjoy the holiday season with my family and friends
as opposed to be too busy or stressed to do so fully.
We can all make a to do list a mile long
so I invite you to be a discerning with this one.
Pick the things that really matter to you to get done
because when you complete a to-do list with intention
it feels kind of like putting the last piece of a puzzle in.
You place it in, step back and smile at your finished product.
That feeling is what I want for you as you close your year.
To completing,
Beth
