Have you ever over-thought anything?

Tomorrow a couple arrives from out of town to work with me.

We have set aside two whole days to take their relationship from strained and struggling to connected and healed.

I love that kind of commitment.

So mine is matching theirs and I have thought of little else over the past few days except how I will serve them while they are here.

The hotel, the food, the training room, the materials,
the processes, the breaks, the break-throughs, the pace,
the plan, the tools, the surprise aspects.

This morning however I realize I have forgotten an important component.
Really the most important one.

The spirit one.

So today instead of feeling slightly panicked at all I have to do before they arrive tomorrow
I am heading down to my office remember to invite the spiritual realm into my planning, into my prepping, and most of all, into my coaching.

I feel less pressure already…

To trusting I am but one part,

How is your inner wellness?

Do you ever notice that when you feel good on the inside
things just get a whole lot better on the outside?

The question is,
is there an easy way to do this?

Because I don’t know about you but if having wellness is too hard then I am less likely to adopt new ways of doing anything.

Thankfully, I know just the guy who has a knack for simplicity.
Jean-Pierre LeBlanc.

Otherwise known as
our next inspired speaker!

Jean-Pierre was one of my earliest mentors from 2005 who taught me the meaning of extraordinary wellness – physcial wellness, relational wellness and how when the physical body and your relationships are well, your bank account follows.

Hear his powerful story of how becoming well was not an option and how natural wellness for you can happen in seconds.

If you have a challenge in the area of sleep, energy, focus, pain or anything else that is preventing you from jumping out of bed in the morning, you do not want to miss this call!

And yes, feel free to share the registration link with those you think would benefit too:

My goal is to create tidal wave of inspiration!

To being super well,

Disneyland aha's…

I confess, I was not too excited about my recent holiday.
I was really wanting a long week of sun and nothingness.
Crowds, line-ups and Mickey Mouse not my first choice for a spring “vacation”.

But some how I got out voted in the family meeting and that’s how I ended up in California.

I have to say, Day 1 was worse that I thought.

The standing
the walking for miles
the over priced everything.

But by day 3 I had unearthed some gems in the Magic Kingdom that I think you might find useful too.

So even though I was hardly the most enthusiastic member of our family trip to Disneyland it was not without some rather useful reminders.

Here are the top three aha’s I had
while volunteering to catapult myself into
rather stressful of situations.

One important caveat to note is that I am not a ride person
or a roller-coaster person
or a fan of scary the crap of out myself “for fun”.
Hopefully this will give some context when I share that I went on virtually everything at Disneyland (against my instincts I might add!).

Here is what I learned somewhere between Indiana Jones and Space Mountain:

  • Focus matters. On day 1 on this trip I noticed the concrete and the commercialism more than anything else. This prevented me from enjoying it. I was in the “now” but not in the good part of now. So I purposely turned my attention away from the crying over-tired children I saw everywhere and let me own children show me what they saw. Cotton candy, storybook characters and “cool stuff” everywhere.
  • Systems are everything. By Day 2 of this trip we had discovered the key to Disneyland being enjoyable – “the fast pass system“. This is where you go to a ride and get a pass to come back later at a set time. When you return you only wait 5-10 minutes in line with the other fast passers instead of the 60 minutes + in the “stand by” line up. This completely upped the fun-factor and when I saw all the other people waiting in the hot sun, I could only assume they were Day 1 people.
  • Fear is my friend. Okay I a big wimp when it comes to rides. The epitome of a amusement wet blanket. I do not like to go upside down, sideways, over drop-offs or be on moving things that do not have brakes – particularly in the dark. But when you are traveling as a family if one parent wimps out, it meets one kid cannot ride or someone has to go by them self. So I calculated the worst case scenarios at every ride and went for it. I am not converted or anything but I learned that even if I am afraid I can have fun.

All of these things I plan to use outside the Magic Kingdom too.

Hope you can too!

And because the place does wear you down with all the celebrations, parades and fireworks I cannot resist ending with one Disneyland quote

“You can design and create, and build the most wonderful place in the world.
But it takes people to make the dream a reality.”

-Walt Disney

Are you into being uncommon?

If you have been reading my ezine for some time then you know
that I spent February giving things up.
Things like coffee, alcohol, sugar, dairy and bread.
Basically all of my fav foods and a few vices.

And when ever you go to the trouble of giving thing up
the real question is…
what did I gain?

And the truth is, quite a lot.
Insights about my body and what it really wants from me.
What totally hydrating myself does for my energy.
How little I thought about the cagillion ways I add toxins into my life.

And at the end of the whole thing
I realize I am not ready to go back to all my old ways.
(Don’t get me wrong post cleanse there have been more than a few
celebratory indulgences with chai tea and chocolate – a girl has to reward herself!)
I find myself instead wanting to explore the field
of uncommon wellness.

In my body.
In my mind.
In my heart.
In my relationships.
In my bank account.
In all of it.

So I officially declare March “uncommon wellness month”
and of course
invite you to pick ONE area of your life you want to take to an uncommon level.

Just one.

And IF you happen to live in the Kelowna area and would like to try out a
Lymphatic Drainage Treatment at the Revive Detox and Wellness Centre
this month they are offering complimentary treatments.

How is that for yummy wellness?

Call Shelley to set up your time to chill out. ;-)

For those of you not in the Okanagan
or not into having free treatments ;-)

may you find your own oasis of wellness this month.

To uncommon ground,
